During my first year at Calvin, I talked to many engineering students, some of whom had participated in the summer program in Germany. Everyone I talked to told me it was one of the best experiences of their lives. I began to get curious, and after receiving some more information, I signed up.
We depart later today with a large group of 37 students. I hope that each person can get to know the others in our group well, and form lasting friendships. I also hope that we as a class can experience the new culture and learn from it together.
I believe that I can contribute to the group my willingness to help out, whether it is helping with homework, helping navigate, or anything else. My prayer is that this trip will not only bring us closer to each other, but will also (more importantly) bring us closer to God. I pray that we can return with a better understanding of who God is and a better relationship with Him.
