As someone who isn’t catholic, a lot the service in the cathedral was foreign to me. From the worshiping in Latin and the massive amount of incense, a lot of it felt unusual, but interesting.
The organ’s reverb was accentuated by the design of the cathedral and its massive size. The cathedral’s size is very indicative of how influential the catholic church used to be in the middle ages, most of which has waned. Despite this, the core tradition has survived, attracting thousands of tourists. Even though the religion has lost a lot of influence, the cultural significance is a major attraction for tourism.
