Top Floor, Please

Our study abroad trip to Germany was a fun and memorable time.

We got to take classes taught by our renowned Professors Nielsen and DeRooy, who blew our minds in the ways of statics and dynamics (they also may have ruined my ignorant enjoyment of bridges for a while) as well as learn German language and culture from professors at TU Berlin. On the weekends, we were fortunate enough to travel outside of Berlin such as Bremen, Wittenberg, and Potsdam, my favourite place being Heidelberg (complete with castle, Asian supermarket and three-story used bookstore). As cheesy as it sounds, we, the students, also grew together as engineers-in-training and hardcore nerds at heart; I think the best things that came out of this trip were our new friendships and bonds that we formed abroad. Now geared with almost-passable conversational German and ways to analyze trusses, we’re back and ready to conquer the engineering world.
